About the company

Gypsy Hub is a fast growing, fast moving liquor distributor, producing award winning spirits, beer and wine from its family owned distillery & brewery in Collingwood & Preston, and winery in Bangholme in Melbourne's South-East.  

Gypsy Hub is seeking a Business Development Executive with established connections to on-premise channels. The successful candidate will be fully immersed in Melbourne's hospitality scene. The position is initially part time (four days per week) with the opportunity to move to full time (five days per week) in January 2021.  

About the role

  • Build strong partnerships with both existing and new customers to develop and execute the market brand plans.
  • Proven ability to build a strong, loyal customer base of premium Melbourne venues.
  • Drive, co-ordinate and executive trade tastings, brand activations and exposure through festivals and events.  
  • Be able to cold call, accept rejection and keep hunting new business opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue all opportunities to promote/sell our brands, including social media.  
  • Be the "face" of our brands in the marketplace.  
  • Analyse and communicate customer requirements to generate new business opportunities.
  • Assist with execution of marketing strategies and provide input for content creation as required.  
  • Manage all sales & distributor relationships across beer, wine, cider, and spirit sales channels.
  • Monitor the craft beer, spirit, cider, and wine markets to determine and identify trends and opportunities for new product development, business partnerships and product collaboration opportunities.
  • Identify and grow sales opportunities across product range.  
  • Manage instore tastings and visual merchandising at various retail distributors.
  • Manage relevant industry Awards submissions, collaborations, and sponsorships. 
  • Regular updating of CRM (Sales Force).
  • Provide weekly reporting to Management on market conditions, trends, competition and be held accountable against sales/new business and ambassador KPI's.  

About you

  • Extensive sales experience and proven track record in a business to business role in the beverage industry.  At least 5 years of hospitality and liquor sales experience.  
  • Solid connections to the beverage industry, particularly on-premise.  
  • A passion for hospitality and all things liquor, particularly Gin. 
  • Willing and able to jump behind a bar and create some cocktails. 
  • Strong communication skills and relationship management skills. 
  • Must be well organised with exceptional attention to detail and time management.
  • Wine knowledge favourable.
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to selling to exceed expectations. 
  • Ability to develop new relationships with customers Australia-wide.
  • Open to facilitate on-premise tastings and industry events and festivals.  
  • Flexibility to move to full time employment in January 2021.  
  • Travel required. 
  • Flexible working hours required including some evenings and weekends.  
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Current RSA
