Management Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant with experience in manufacturing to become part of our busy Finance team who is confident and capable of undertaking many roles. Reporting to the Director, this role has a broad responsibility to support the Finance & HR Team.

This position requires a positive and outgoing attitude, possessing a good working knowledge of the following:

  • Processing fortnightly time sheets & payroll for factory and office staff incorporating time clocks between 30 to 40 employees
  • Tracking and managing WIP (Work in progress) and maintaining invoice forecasting against contracts, raising invoices, and sending them out.
  • Reconciling the various bank accounts and credit cards
  • Processing expenses from staff, coding against projects as required
  • Maintain a working record of all projects, new and existing and obtain information such as duration, milestones, and overall fees.
  • Month end processing such as Balance Sheet reconciliations and preparation of financial Statements
  • Dealing with Progress Payments & Retention Claims - advantage
  • Dealing with pay related queries & Workers' Compensation
  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable - invoice processing, account statements, reconciliations, payments, maintenance of files and records, customer & suppliers enquiries, credit card processing and reconciliations
  • Preparing of Payroll Tax, PAYG and Workers Compensation
  • Maintain data base, files and records for accounts and payroll
  • Month end processing
  • Raise purchase orders
  • Setting up new employees in the system

Candidates must also have:

  • Good working knowledge of Xero
  • Experience of managing WIP and projects
  • Good working knowledge of General Ledger
  • Excellent computer skills with proven word and excel knowledge
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience in data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounting experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience
  • Fluent in English skills (both oral and written)
