We are consistently looking at developing our processes to improve what we do. Multiquip is seeking an experienced Transport Company Manager Officer to join our team in Austral on a full-time basis.

The Role

Transport Company manager will direct, plan, and organize all transportation procedures for our company. This includes directing and communicating with transportation vehicles to ensure safe and on-time deliveries for consumers who are expecting products.

The transport company manager has to monitor various activities inside the department as well as the safe transportation of products and services from the company to the scheduled delivery location.

Core Duties and Tasks:

  • Responsible for getting the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations all at the right time.
  • Receive orders and bookings and then plan, organize, and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • In charge of the day to day operations of the transport department.
  • Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles. 
  • Responsible for all the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles.
  • Resolve issues surrounding product delays, customer and shipper complaints, and employee misconduct
  • Collaborate with other staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation, and procedures.
  • Managing, monitoring, and developing a team of drivers and line managers.
  • Involved in strategic development and strategy making.
  • Serve as contact persons for all workers within assigned territories.
  • Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
  • Arranging for the induction and training off all new staff.
  • Developing and nurturing customer relationships.
  • Maintaining accurate business and administrative records.
  • Organizing vehicle checks and Identifying operational issues, potential problems, and opportunities.
  • Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently.
  • Appraising staff performance and taking disciplinary measures when required.
  • Responsible for all OH&S investigations.

About You

  • A minimum of Bachelor level qualification in a business field
  • Five or more years experience in the provision of third-party transport
  • Knowledge of road transport legislation, including Chain of Responsibility and Dangerous Goods transport across all Australian jurisdictions
  • Proven leadership capabilities including ability to effectively engage staff at all levels
  • A proven track record in identification and delivery of projects improving cost-effectiveness of operations
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Can work under pressure and meet deadline and ability to multitask.
