SEAWAY is looking for a Business Development Manager with strong, demonstrated experience in freight forwarding sales in Perishable commodities to join our sales team in Melbourne. This role will suit a proactive and assertive individual with a broad industry network and strong sales experience in the Supply Chain or related industry.
Utilizing your experience in Perishable Cargo as well as all aspects of sales and relationship management you will be required to grow, develop and maintain business with a National exposure across SEAWAYs Perishable supply chain, covering; Import/Export/Sea/Air and Intermodal. Note that domestic travel to various rural regions will be necessary in this role.
Basic responsibilities of this role will include:
Proactively develop active sales pipeline
Achieve new business sales targets
Identify opportunities and develop new business
Maintain strong customer relationships with all new and existing accounts
Accurately complete sales reports
Experience and Knowledge:
3-5 years experience in a Sales Executive/Business Development role within the Supply Chain or other related industry
Strong experience working with Perishable/Foodstuff cargo (imports preferred)
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to operate autonomously and self-motivate
Passion for the shipping & logistics industry
Knowledge of CargoWise will be advantageous but not essential
Degree level qualification. International Trade or Supply Chain subjects are preferable but not essential
