About the role
We are currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The role will be based in our Gold Coast office located in Southport, working on a full time basis.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to design and manage multiple structural engineering projects that are aligned with the principles of the business and current regulations, and develop strong working relationships internally and with key clients, architects, government authorities and support services.
Westera has an ISO Accredited Quality Management System. It is the responsibility of all team members to comply with this system and to contribute to the continuous business improvement.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 8 years post graduate experience, hold a Bachelor degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent and current registration with CPEng/RPEQ.
Your software design skills will be advanced and you are comfortable providing mentoring to team members. Modelling skills in Strand7 and Inducta software would be considered as an advantage.
You should be able to demonstrate your business acumen by providing examples of your projects where you have maximised margin through a complete understanding of scope, cost, variation and your overall understanding of the financial and contractual obligations of each project.
Your ability to problem solve technical matters should be advanced with strict adherence of regulations and code compliance, and by applying creative, efficient and effective design solutions.
You should have a personable approach and advanced communication skills as you will need to engage and build rapport with all stakeholders internally and externally. In summary you should be dedicated, motivated, proactive and enthusiastic.

Candidates will need to hold a current, unencumbered drivers license.
