Account(able) Accountants & Financial Planners is an established accounting and financial planning firm in Bacchus Marsh which provides highly tailored accounting and financial advice to clients,

This is a diverse role in the accounting and financial planning division, working with our SMSF clients with their annual financials, whilst also providing investment reports for on-going financial advice.

We are seeking an experienced SMSF senior to join our team and are on the search for somebody who lives nearby for either:

  • An experienced SMSF qualified accountant to join our team in a full time capacity. The role will encompass all aspects of an active role in a professional public practice.
  • A Paraplanner to be trained up to help complete SMSF administration work and tax returns

Working as part of the team and reporting to a Manager, you will be responsible for the successful management of a growing number of SMSF's.

The Role:

  • Monitoring the compliance obligations and administrative requirements of a portfolio of SMSF clients
  • Manage the team preparing financial statements, electronic working papers and tax returns for SMSFs
  • Manage the team preparing BAS, IAS, and TBAR returns
  • Assisting senior Financial Planner with financial planning tasks of SMSF clients like insurance, investment reviews, retirement planning, etc.
  • Utilizing Class Super software
  • Liaising with clients directly and dealing with any SMSF issues
  • Liaising with our auditors regarding technical and compliance matters
  • Providing technical SMSF guidance to internal stakeholders and adding value to your client portfolio
  • Assist with set ups and closure of SMSFs
  • Considering and implementing taxation planning for tax minimisation and providing assistance to the senior Financial Planner

Key Requirements:

  • 3 years + experience in an SMSF or Business Services position or ParaPlanner role
  • Degree qualification
  • Excellent working knowledge of SIS legislation and recent Superannuation reforms
  • Ability to leverage your communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across the firm and disciplines
  • Highly motivated with a drive to succeed
  • A positive attitude and a great willingness to learn
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
