The Role:

The Sales Engineer is a key resource to provide pricing solutions to Green Lights customers through the sales and service management processes.
The Sales Engineer uses information resources regarding customer needs, historical data, market conditions, and internal margin/revenue targets to prepare pricing quotes and/or proposals.

As a Sales Engineer, your main role will be to support the business (mainly the Services team) with pricing and proposals of all incoming opportunities while building a relevant knowledge base of similar proposals and pricing methods.

You will need the ability to carry out presentations to internal / external stakeholders, work with spreadsheets and run or participate in meetings.

The Sales Engineer also needs to be able to plan and participate in service contract negotiations (new business and renewals).

Scrutiny of tender documents and keeping up to date with whats going on in the market is essential.


  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential - analyse data records and drill down to salient information
  • Experience in analysingand assembling information is mandatory.
  • Previous technical experience in building, deploying, supporting and decommissioning IT infrastructure. Background in Cloud services and Service Desk desirable
  • Ideally have developed comprehensive Costing Models that can be used to support bids and tenders
  • Strong negotiating and stakeholder management skills
  • Very strong verbal and written communication
  • Proven adaptability, agility and high levels of energy in highly dynamic IT Sales and Services environment
  • Able to demonstrate process ownership and compliance and systems awareness
  • This role is suitable for someone who recently held IT Technical roles, who wants to progress into Pe-Sales or Solutions.
