Supply Chain Coordinator

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

Based in Broken Hill, the Supply Chain Coordinator supports business processes to ensure merchandise products are purchased and stocked and their inventory is accurately managed. Our new Supply Chain Coordinator will work out of our RFDS Heritage and Outback Experience Centre and will be supporting the Business Manager/Tourism. In this role, you will negotiate with suppliers, be responsible to accurately manage our cloud-based digital platforms, monitor and optimise inventory levels across multiple locations. Coordinate inventory transfers between locations and collaborate with the third-party fulfilment supplier.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Forecast and identify merchandise purchase needs
  • Inventory management across our eCommerce and Retail stores
  • Data Management
  • Reporting and insights
  • Partner with Retail Manager to negotiate with suppliers on costs, delivery times and distribution of shipments
  • Provide support for other users for our cloud-based, integrated digital supply chain platforms

Essential Criteria for the Role

  • Experience in supply chain management, ideally within a retail environment
  • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to work within a structured and focussed approach
  • Experience in managing a third part logistics supplier (3PL) to achieve maximum outcomes with cost efficient approaches
  • Excellent data analytics and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and thrive on building collaborative business relationships
  • Outstanding attention to detail and logic thinking
