A little bit about the role
The Senior Transport Engineer is an integral part of our Transport Management Team. This position will provide engineering advice and make recommendations in relation to Councils road system, parking, transport and traffic issues.
You will need to liaise with stakeholders both at Council and external parties, such as our residents, relevant Government agencies, public authorities, public transport operators and the general public.
You will be required to develop proposals, prepare concept designs and funding applications, as well as development and design of capital works projects, just to name a few. Please see our Position Description for further details.
What are we looking for
We are looking for a Civil Engineer (or equivalent qualification) who has demonstrated experience in the field of traffic/transport engineering. Knowledge of project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and report on outcomes will complement your strong written and oral communications skills. The ability to lead a team and work with Council to deliver an exceptional service and place our customers at the centre of everything we do.
Qualifications and Employment Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification which will qualify for membership to category of Member, Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in the field of traffic/transport engineering, with responsibility for a diverse range of projects, in a relevant field of engineering.
- Relevant experience in the field of construction or engineering, or an organisation providing services to the general public.
- Current car drivers licence applicable to the Victoria State Regulations.
