We are a quality yet affordable removalist company located on the Gold Coast, QLD. We provide office, domestic and interstate removalist services for corporate and individual clients along Australias East coast. 

We are looking for an experienced Transport Company Manager to run our operations.


The Position  

As Transport Company Manager you will be responsible for developing, planning and modifying business procedures and policies to increase growth. You will drive increased profitability through controlling elements of operations from staffing, vehicles, administration and safety. 


Specific tasks will include:

  • Develop, improve and roll-out systems and processes across all functional areas of the company including transportation plans, route plans, vehicle selection, order management 
  • Maintain adequate fleet by purchasing or leasing vehicles, arranging branding, maintaining registrations and maintenance schedules and implementing regular safety checks 
  • Respond to enquiries from prospective customers, determining their requirements, provide advice and information regarding vehicle size required, hire rates, time frames and availability
  • Arrange domestic, office and interstate removals for customers by responding to enquiries and taking orders from customers, scheduling contractors and maintaining records
  • Organise the purchase of equipment, tools and fuel for the trucks as required 
  • Organise bookings, plan and implement removal schedules for contractors considering issues such as congestion, contractor and vehicle availability
  • Ensure items are transported in satisfactory conditions to avoid breakages, damage or loss by ensuring each vehicle contains appropriate equipment including straps, clean padded protective blankets, piano trolleys, packing materials and tools to assist in a safe delivery. 
  • Provide training to staff regarding the proper handling of goods, wrapping and ties, load restraint
  • Maintain WHS processes and systems providing training and information regarding drugs and alcohol use, fitness for work and record keeping 


Required Attributes 

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Business or Management (or similar)
  • At least five years' experience in logistics, preferably in the transportation industry
  • At least three years experience in transport company management at senior level
  • Familiarity with logistics software, like Freight view and 3PLink
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field is a plus
  • Advanced leadership and communication skills
  • Able to solve problems and work efficiently
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State legislation including the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989, Vehicle Regulation, Federal Interstate Registration Scheme, Australian Roads Registration and Licensing Task Force



For this full-time role, we are offering a salary in the range $75 000 to $85 000 + super depending on experience.
