An exciting opportunity exists for a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team.  Working in an Amusement Park, each day is different!  This role will see you work within a supportive team environment whilst undertaking a variety of tasks, consequently growing your capabilities at work.

During operational periods, working hours will be 5 days a week (including one regular weekend shift).  Outside of these periods, the working hours will be Monday to Friday.


As a Maintenance Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the maintenance of all rides and associated equipment, property, buildings and gardens.
  • Assisting with the cleaning of the Park grounds and buildings and the collection and disposal of garbage and waste.
  • Compliance with legislative requirements and Australian Standards and assisting with preparation of associated records.
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Oversee aspects of training of ride operations including orientation, handbooks and on-the-job training.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with all aspects of Park Operations as directed.


Essential Criteria

  • Prior and substantial experience working in a similar role that entails handyman type work in a variety of areas.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own responsibilities
  • Competent in using a variety of tools and equipment
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills relevant to general maintenance building, engine and motor operations and repair.
  • Ability to undertake the inherent requirements of the role including all aspects of site maintenance
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Friendly and considerate manner
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safe Work practices, EEO and WHS.
  • Valid NSW Working With Children Check 


Desirable Criteria

  • Trade Qualification with experience working on maintenance issues in buildings and/or equipment
  • Current First Aid Certificate.

Remuneration:  Packaged salary based on the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award (2020)
