Our client is a Mechanical Contracting business with strong 10-year history as a leading mechanical service provider to the agricultural and viticulture industries in WA. Their customer base ranges from farming and viticulture enterprises in the southwest corner of WA, through to agricultural machinery dealerships located throughout the wheatbelt areas of WA.
About the role and you
Our client is currently seeking an experienced agricultural equipment mechanic to support them as they continue to grow their customer base.
You will have recent experience in pre-delivering, servicing and repairing machinery used in the broadacre wheatbelt farming industry in particular late model agricultural equipment from main-stream manufacturers including, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland and AGCO.
You should also be able to demonstrate prior experience working in an agricultural dealership environment that deals with late model broadacre wheatbelt equipment (grain harvesters, fronts, sprayers, tractors (FWA and 4WD up to 600 HP) tillage equipment and air seeders).
Other key attributes required for the position include:
- Trade Qualified with papers
- Current WA drivers' licence
- Airconditioning ticket, desirable
- Crane ticket, desirable
- Forklift ticket, desirable
- A strong knowledge of general mechanical systems used on broadacre agricultural equipment (engines/transmissions/drive lines), electrical and hydraulic systems along with experience using schematics to problem solve
- Experience using laptop-based service software from main stream agricultural manufacturers
- Willingness and ability to continuously up-skill
- Excellent communication skills and reporting ability

About the benefits and perks
The successful candidate will be required to work away from home on a regular basis (only Monday to Friday when required to work away), however the amount and lengths of away trips can be flexible to allow for a suitable work/life balance.
There is the potential for the candidate to remain living where they are, or to relocate to a larger centre (Perth area or the Southwest), as the job will involve a drive in, drive out arrangement to the various locations where our services are required.
