The key tasks and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Identify, assess and manage/mitigate risk in a proactive manner to successfully deliver tasks within required budget, time and safety guideline.
  • Ensure process and system changes are correctly reflected in all relevant documentation and processes such as engineering design reports, redline mark up drawings, test procedure, cut-over documents and as-built drawings & photos.
  • Assist in development of technical and commercial content of all reports, standards and contract documentation in consultation with the team lead.
  • Deliver high-level customer-focused professional advice and support to all stakeholders ensuring system integrity and performance is maintained at all times
  • Carry out RTU, PLC & SCADA code development, FAT (factory acceptance test), installation, SAT (site acceptance test) and commissioning to customers according to their requirement.
  • Undertake other duties outside the SCADA such as business development for the management team and general support to other engineers
  • Participate in marketing, pre-sales and business development activities such as actively exploring business leads, attending to customers enquiry, providing the scope of work and cost estimate, attending sales meetings, commercial agreements review, supplier relationship and technology partnership establishment, business building and service streamlining.
  • Be on the front foot driving safety mindset.

  • Participate in a duty roster to provide after-hours service to customers.

Essential Skills

  • RTU (Schneider SCADAPack, GE D25, Cooper SMP, and ABB RTU560: logic development, testing and commissioning)

  • PLC (M580 PLC, Allen Bradly, ComAp, Distributed Energy Management System, Microgrid Controller: hardware configuration, logic development, testing and commissioning)

  • SCADA Programming (ClearSCADA 2017, CitectSCADA 2019, MicroSCADA, Wonderware Historian: database configuration, development and integration)
  • Protection Relays (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, SEL: Configuration, Programming and Commissioning)
  • Industrial Protocol (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, HART, Profibus, IEEE2030.5, OPC: Network design and signal traffic decipher)
  • Documentation (Cost Estimate, Design Reports, Electrical Drawings, P&ID, SCADA Block Diagrams, Logic Drawings, Test Procedures, Functional Control Descriptions)
  • Recent utility SCADA experiences (minimum of 5 years continuous practice)

Qualifications & Licenses:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Embedded System, Mechatronics Engineering
  • A valid Western Australian Drivers Licence
  • A valid White Card
  • A valid National Police Clearance
