About the company
Pyrocal Pty Ltd is an Australian, innovative engineering company. We specialise in the design, build and installation of thermal carbonisation systems that extract value from biomass and residual waste. We are based in Toowoomba and require an experienced Management Accountant to join our growing industry-leading team.

About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Management Accountant will deliver timely and reliable management reports and financial analysis to business unit leaders and the Board.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare monthly management reports including Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable/Payable function
  • Reconcile all General Ledger accounts
  • Manage the finance activities for the business including the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts and financial models
  • Improve and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Management of payroll processing and reporting requirements
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS
  • Prepare Research & Development Tax Incentive
  • Coordinate lodgement of annual returns with tax accountant
  • Other duties as directed by the Managing Director

What we are looking for
To be successful for this position you will be Tertiary qualified with commercial accounting experience and ideally demonstrate the following;

  • Previous experience in a project-based manufacturing environment will be looked upon favourably
  • A strong sense of trust and a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong hands-on and management skills and experience
  • Deep analytical capability and ability to apply strategic thinking to financial reporting and analysis, identify issues and propose solutions to support decision-making and the development of business strategies and business cases
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with ability to consult and provide advice to all levels of the organisation
  • Experience planning, implementing & managing effective organisation-wide processes, and demonstrated success in influencing business decisions
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite including (demonstrated) Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting software packages, exposure to ERP systems and business intelligence tools will be looked upon favourably
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member to achieve goals
