Category Lead

12 Month Contract, Leading Government Agency, CBD Location.

What is the role

We are working with a well established government organization who is looking for a Category lead to join their team, in order to lead the design and implementation of the category plans for assigned spend categories, as agreed with Manager, Provider Management, to ensure that the service providers operate in a manner consistent with the provider management framework and strategy.

Key accountabilities:

  • Design and implement the annual plan for the assigned spend categories, including initial selection/contracting for new categories.
  • Provider relationship management in line with an engagement plan.
  • For assigned categories, in collaboration with stakeholders, establish appropriate value and quality performance measures (e.g. Service Level Agreements, KPIs), compliance and reporting requirements that align with functional, e.g. Return To Work & Support (RTW&S) and Loss Prevention & Pricing (LP&P) requirements, and ensuring proper communication and monitoring of these with providers.
  • Organise and conduct (quarterly) performance meetings for the allocated categories with providers, including gathering of relevant performance data from Provider Operations team and other relevant sources such as Net Promoter Score and Peer reviews.
  • Draw insights from service and performance data in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to identify areas for ongoing improvement including provider conduct matters.
  • Engage providers on improvement plans to ensure a high quality services is provided to customers.
  • Operate Category Governance Committee meetings, as appropriate, for the assigned spend categories.
  •  Engage with other stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the business as relevant to ensure alignment with service models and compliance requirements (e.g. legal, risk management, privacy).  
  • Actively co-ordinate / collaborate with Provider Operations to ensure operational delivery in line with contract, service model and compliance requirements to support functional requirements.
  • Initiate and facilitate special projects, including research and initiating workshops which involve specific providers.


What kind experience are we looking for

  • An extensive range of experience in Workplace Rehabilitation Services provision and or management
  • An extensive range of provider management experience in the personal injury (workers compensation preferred) and or insurance industry
  • An extensive range of experience in management and or provision of medicolegal services
