The Classic Factory is a small but well established and expanding restoration shop. We do all types of vehicles and are particularly experienced with 50's and 60's English sports cars. The shop is always full of interesting projects. We strive to do the highest quality restorations and produce many concours level vehicles.
About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated team players to contribute towards our goal of producing world class restorations.
In consultation with me you would be in charge of the metalwork side of the projects that come through the shop.
You will need experience in restoration including chassis work, rust repair, panel making, gapping, file finishing and alignment. Skills in all types of welding essential, lead loading abilities a bonus. Application and blocking of filler and primers. Experience with final assembly would be desirable.
You must be able to consistently produce a very high standard of work and be prepared to produce concours quality cars.
Personal presentation is important as you will be in contact with customers and may be needed to represent the business at car shows etc.
Flexibility of hours/part time available.
Well above award rates offered. Wages to be negotiated depending on experience/skills.

Skills and experience
You will need to be able to do most or all of the following;
1. Old school panelbeating - hammer and dolly, file finishing.
2. panel making
3. rust repairs with a minimum of filler
4. TIG welding
5. Spot welding
6. MIG welding
7. Oxy shrinking
8. Application and blocking of filler and primers
9. Metal preparation for paint
10. Reading panels and shaping a car
11. Masking, sanding, buffing and detailing.
