Finance Officer (0.6 FTE)


Albany Youth Support Association is looking for a dynamic part-time Finance Officer who will work with a small team to provide financial analysis and administrative support to AYSA, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

The position has responsibility for supporting monthly financial analysis, procurement and purchasing activities, and maintaining the financial systems that support the organisation.

With ad-hoc support for the administration and clerical support to AYSA. The position requires an individual to embrace a growth mind set and both hold a meticulous mindset but also a flexibility that works to resolve issues to a solution.

Selection Criteria


  1. Diploma or greater in accounting, business or commerce or working towards completion of equivalent qualifications.
  2. A friendly and approachable team member that supports staff with issues with a growth mindset.
  3. Demonstrate an ability to balance the roles need for attention to detail and accuracy while also allowing flexibility.
  4. High level experience with Xero, Office Suite and General Computer Literacy.
  5. Demonstrated experience in whole of business bookkeeping, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable.
  6. Highly Developed Communication Skills with demonstrated experience in Stakeholder Management.
  7. Excellent time management and workflow management skills.
  8. Experience in Cost Accounting Reporting.  


  1. Two years or greater bookkeeping experience using Xero.
  2. Experience in non-profit bookkeeping and reporting to ACNC, Associations Online, and other reporting parties.
  3. Experience Working with the SCHADS Award implementation to payroll.
  4. Accounting, Bookkeeping or Business qualification with interest to complete a CPA or IPA.
