Experienced Surveyor

H.S.V. Landsurveys is initially seeking 2 surveyors, with experience in the Engineering Civil / Mining / Infrastructure industries. For an upcoming 2:1 FIFO contract in the Southwest. And possibly to start within the September 2020.

It involves Setout (Post & Pre Pour) of

Concrete Footings, Pedestals, Bolts, Shutters.

The Role and Key Responsibilities:

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Carrying out field surveys as instructed by H.S.V. and /or Client.
  • Conducting the collection, analysis, presentation & documentation of survey data.
  • Providing feedback to the Site Manager regarding drawing discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • Compliance with the Safety and Environmental Responsibilities as specified in the H.S.V. OSHR Plan and/or Client OHS Policy.
  • Follow correct company policies and procedures by H.S.V and/or Client.
  • Provide accurate maps, plans, files, charts and reports on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis as requested. by H.S.V and / or the Client.
  • Mentoring if required, the more junior members of your team and the delegation of work.

Essential Experience/Qualifications:

  • Ideally have a minimum 3-5+ years experience overall.
  • Ability to communicate with construction field staff and co-ordinate on survey issues
  • Survey experience in the Construction, Civil & Mining industry.
  • Self-sufficient, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to be a team leader, organise and motivate others.
  • Surveying tertiary qualifications and / or an Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (Surveying)
  • Proficient knowledge in survey equipment such as Trimble (Preferred), Leica & Topcon
  • GPS knowledge. Trimble (Preferred), Leica & Topcon
  • Be computer literate, with experience of survey software including 12d (Preferred).
  • Have effective communication and verbal skills.
  • Exhibit proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have superior time management skills - able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a qualified and a /or experienced surveyor with strong construction experience in a wide range of civil / mining projects. (i.e.Cadastral, Land Development, Road / Rail Infrastructure, Civil Earthworks Steel and Concrete etc) 

  • Resides in Australia, is a permanent resident / citizen and willing to live in Western Australia if from the Eastern States (Due to Covid 19)
  • Must have a Current Australian Drivers License class (C) Manual.
  • Be able to demonstrate a stable career history.
  • Keen, self-motivated, responsible and mature attitude
  • Willing to learn and teach
  • Good clear communication, verbal and writing skills
  • Be willing to travel to jobs, including living away from home if required.
