Marketing & Communications Manager (full-time 1-year maternity leave contract)

We're seeking a passionate, energetic Marketing and Communications Manager to drive our mission to lead, advance and celebrate volunteering in WA.

This exciting role will work across the entire organisation taking in our programs, events and general marketing activities. It involves working closely with team members to coordinate marketing functions and campaigns, ensuring maximum exposure and consistency of our key messages and branding.

The role is a full-time one-year maternity leave contract, and reports to the Senior Manager Development.

Our ideal candidate will be incredible at marketing with all-round experience that demonstrates their success in running high profile events, coordinating marketing campaigns using traditional and digital channels and the ability to adapt and create cut-through messages and marketing collateral for a wide range of audiences.

You'll need to be a true team player with a 'can do', positive attitude.

You are tech savvy for maintaining our social media handles, compiling and distributing eNews, and making minor updates to our website. You have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with proven experience in developing and executing fresh and outstanding media/marketing strategies to appeal to target audiences. You are creative and use your initiative to develop innovative stand-out marketing/promotional plans and execute them meticulously.

We need someone with enthusiasm, self-direction and drive are needed to meet the challenges of this role along with the essential experience and skills outlined in the selection criteria below:

Essential selection criteria

  • Relevant qualifications such as Bachelor of Business (Public Relations/Marketing/Journalism)
  • And/or a minimum of 5years PR/marketing management experience in a similar role
  • Professional writing skills with proven experience in developing and executing fresh and outstanding media/marketing strategies to appeal to target audiences
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proven media experience with the initiative to identify stories and target media
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills with an emphasis on presentation and design
  • Extensive social media skills and experience
  • Exceptional project and event management with budget and time management control
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Energetic, highly motivated with the drive to succeed and confidence to represent and work collaboratively across the sector
  • Proven ability to deliver results under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Desire to meet own KPIs and support others in attaining theirs
  • Align with VWAs values we are inclusive, innovative and operate with integrity
