Program Officer

Lifeline Tasmania has been helping the Tasmanian community for more than 40 years, through the provision of programs and support services aimed at building strong, resilient communities. Our vision is a Tasmania free of suicide, where everyone meets challenges with strength and optimism.

Chats is a program of Lifeline Tasmania servicing the North, North West and South, providing Social Support to people in the Over 65 and Less than 65 programs who are isolated, lonely or at risk of becoming socially isolated and lonely. The Chats program provides opportunities for Tasmanians to connect with their local community, to socialise and lead independent and fulfilling lives.  Through involvement in a wide range of hosted activities, clients are provided the opportunity to attend social activities to improve their social, physical and emotional wellbeing and reablement.

  • An authentic and capable communicator, you will embrace opportunities to connect with people from all walks of life, operating as part of a small but dedicated team with a shared interest in enriching the lives of our clients.  You will support your colleagues in a range of tasks, adopting a flexible and proactive approach to deliver improved outcomes
  • Working within the framework and compliance of the Australian Government Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Drawing upon your past experience, you will adopt a friendly but objective and solution-focused approach to addressing client enquiries and undertaking new client sign ups  and conducting client care plans
  • Equipped with well-developed computer and administration skills, you will administrate a busy transport schedule including Chats vehicles, and community transport
  • A current Tasmanian drivers licence and the ability to satisfy the requirements of a National Police Record Check are essential.

This position attracts remuneration and conditions in line with Lifeline Tasmanias Employee Enterprise Agreement, including 12% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and access to salary packaging.
