Senior Administration Officer (Maternity Leave Fixed Term)

The PKKP Aboriginal Corporation administers the traditional lands and waters of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people and the Pinikura people on their behalf. These lands and waters cover approximately 10,888 square kilometres of Western Australias Pilbara region, between Onslow and Tom Price.



The primary objective of the Senior Administration Officer is to be responsible to manage and maintain high quality administrative, secretarial, and clerical services and support to colleagues in the office, maintaining efficient office environment and manage daily operations. The Senior Administration Officer is responsible to actively support and engage with the Executive Management Team, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and employees to promote compliance, and organisational vision, values, and objectives of the Corporation.

  • Cultural competence particularly with Aboriginal people;
  • Experience in information systems to maintain records and registers;
  • Experience in information technology, including assisting with IT tasks;
  • Experience in performing a variety Administration tasks with high attention to detail;
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to consistently follow-through on tasks;
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Administration role;
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with Aboriginal People;
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing a small team;
  • Demonstrated ability to upskill, train and professionally advance others;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable and receivable;
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and budget constraints;
  • Highly flexible, adaptable, and willing to work in dynamic environment;
  • Excellent level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) skills;
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol testing;
  • Current National Police Check (or ability to gain);
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to gain);
  • Valid Open C Class Licence;
  • Certificate IV in Administration or equivalent; and
  • Commitment to advancing values and objectives of PKKP AC.


  • Understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972;
  • Previous experience within Community Services or similar role;
  • Previous experience within Aboriginal people in similar role; and
  • Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003).
