About the role

This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for the business. The role will incorporate internal reporting and external compliance, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, financial analysis for commercial opportunities and the continuous improvement of processes.

You will be a driven and motivated Financial Controller with a hands-on approach and operational focus that can add value to our business strategy and contribute to our success.

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Prepare general purpose financial reports for multiple entities.
  • Prepare variance analysis, KPI reporting, modelling and management reports.
  • Acquisition accounting entries and tax effect accounting entries.
  • Maintain robust accounting and finance policies, procedures and systems.
  • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
  • Month end accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide performance reports for business and strategic planning.
  • Develop budgets, financial plans and measurement strategies.
  • Use your professional judgement to advise on the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Provide insight and advice to the Managing Director on how to achieve and maintain ongoing financial sustainability of the business.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Formal qualifications in Accounting or similar field.
  • CA / CPA qualified.
  • At least five years experience in a similar role. Experience within a Finance role in an FMCG business is an advantage.  
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Xero, or similar program.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills. You can work collaboratively across the business with a hands-on approach.
  • Advanced data management skills, including the ability to accurately and reliably interrogate, interpret and use data to inform and guide decision making.
