Principal - Program Management Office

Your new position

We have newly created leadership opportunity to join our Sustaining Capital team in the role of Principal, Program Management Office.

You will lead the development of a new Program Management Office supporting the end-to-end project lifecycle for Sustaining Capital projects.   Leading a team of program management professionals, your will build the PMO’s capability whilst designing and implementing a common project management methodology and standardised tools to support the business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Management and reporting of the Program schedule, costs and interdependencies through tracking, analysis and performance feedback to the Manager Sustaining Capital
  • Collaborate with the Major Projects Group and the Minor Capital Works Groups around works planning, particularly shutdown activities. 
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, finance management, risk management and reporting
  • Coordinate Gateway Review processes as required for the entire project lifecycle; planning through to delivery.
  • Provide advice and insight that has come from analysis to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery
  • Provide input into the project planning process, specifically on typical cost and schedule performance across the portfolio
  • Manage a range of procurement and contract administration activities for Sustaining Capital.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in strategic and innovative project management. You will have a superior understanding of project methodologies, processes and procedures including contracting, quality assurance, environmental management and workplace health and safety management.  Key to the role will be your demonstrated ability to develop and lead a successful PMO function

In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • Management of diverse stakeholder expectations, across different business groups and a proven ability to engage and influence external stakeholders
  • High level communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as engineering, project management or commercial management highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to lead high performance teams working to a range of stakeholders, suppliers and individuals in the community.
  • Proven experience of successfully leading business improvements including cultural change.
  • Demonstrable experience of being a team player, and of fostering and thriving in and a collaborative culture.
  • Proven ability to create value for Seqwater by way of combining best practices, industry trends, methodology knowledge, and experience to achieve the best approach and solution.
