Compliance Training Coordinator

Emerald Carrying Company (ECC) is a family owned business and is a leading provider of logistics services throughout Queensland, Australia specilising in Bulk Liquids and General Freight.

Emerald Carrying Company are currently seeking a new, experienced Compliance Training Coordinator in a full-time permanent role to join the team based in Lytton, Brisbane.

This role will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Promote the companys values of pride, care, respect and excellence;
  • Working with management to ensure training and compliance is scheduled for each depot;
  • Manage training, inductions and onboarding process;
  • Create and maintain driver training plans;
  • Maintain the businesses training needs analysis and matrix;
  • Continuously review processes looking at ways to improve;
  • Assist the safety team with investigations and risk assessments on business incidents as required;
  • Ensure all drivers meet NHVAS, HVNL, COR and customer expectations;
  • Conduct internal assurance (audits, inspections and observations) to ensure compliance;
  • Be on call when required after hours for operational support and emergency response

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in similar role;
  • Minimum 5 years experience driving on an MC license;
  • Minimum 3 years DG fuel experience;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • MC License;
  • DG License;
  • Ability to deliver DG training and SLP;
  • Safe Load Pass;
  • Display a strong commitment to safety, understanding hazard identification and risk assessment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of DG, fatigue and mass regulations and emergency response requirements;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of workplace health and safety act and regulations and be able to apply that knowledge to develop and implement practical solutions to safety issues;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Have the ability to work with minimum supervision and to manage and direct others;
  • Have the ability to solve complex problems and implement practical solutions within the context of an operating industrial port;
  • Demonstrate adequate planning to ensure prioritization of projects and allocation of resources to achieve business units and organisational goals and objectives;
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive safety outcomes with investigations, audits and learnings;
  • Have the ability to work in a team environment, to manage and lead others and maintain effective working relationships to achieve positive safety outcomes
