School Secretary/Receptionist - Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, SUNNYBANK

We are seeking a professional, forward thinking school secretary/receptionist to join our administration team. The position requires you to work collaboratively as part of the team in a busy school office environment, serving the needs of students and families in our community. Must be able to multi-task a busy reception area in a friendly and professional manner, and provide administration support to the school.

In this role you will work Fridays, have the ability to cover relief office days and cover various staff members during Terms 3 and 4 who are taking long service leave (2 to 3 weeks) in a full-time capacity.

Typical duties include:

• Handling enquiries and attending school reception
• Student, parent and staff liaison
• Correspondence
• Student absentee recording
• Data entry
• Sick bay and first aid
• Various other administration tasks as required

Applicants must possess good clerical and typing skills, exceptional phone manner, strong organisational skills, great attention to detail with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and preferably experience with the eMinerva system. A high level of communication and interpersonal skills are required. The successful applicant should hold or be prepared to obtain a First Aid Certificate.

  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:  August 2020

Employment Tenure:   Part Time (Term Time) + Fixed Term

Tenure Duration (if "Fixed Term"):  Term 3 & Term 4

If Part Time, hours and/or days required: 1 day/wk (7 hrs/wk) - Friday + additional full time hours as required

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019
