Job title: Operator Data Entry & Digitisation

Job grade/classification: Clerk General Scale: $68,060. Package includes base salary ($37,835 - $61,399) plus superannuation and leave loading.
Employment type: Temporary full time (for a period up to 12 months)
Location: The role will be based at the Western Sydney Record Centre in Kingswood but will also be required to work across other locations as directed.

About the Role

The Operator role provides assistance in all areas of operation by providing appropriate resources and services. The role may undertake a range of functions including tasks such as:

  • Capture data from physical and electronic records into databases and other tools in line with customer specifications.
  • Re-box files into new containers and list contents.
  • Track file and box contents through the use of barcode scanners or supply chain packages.
  • Prepare file for digitisation/imaging including removal of clips, folds, etc. and convert physical documents to electronic formats using high-speed & specialised imaging equipment.
  • Handle fragile and archival records in accordance with related policies and procedures.
  • Loading & unloading of pallets up to 16kgs per item.

Other duties may be undertaken as directed by the organisation as required.

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

  • Process items, efficiently and accurately to deliver output in accordance with service standards.
  • Prepare requested items for return to clients in accordance with service standards.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines to provide efficient logistics support for storage and movement of records internally, at satellite repositories and offsite at client's premises.
  • Respond to enquiries from external and internal clients in accordance with service standards.
  • Ensure all enquiries, tasks and issues are accurately captured and authorized policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide administrative services, respond to enquiries and complete a range of processing activities with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge, techniques and skills to deliver a quality service.

Essential requirements:

  • Attainment Working with Children Check within 6 months or upon request.
  • Attainment Current NSW (C) Class or equivalent Australian Drivers license within 6 months, upon request.
  • Good aptitude with use of computing platforms such as Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to attain an (LO) order Picker License within 6 months, upon request.
  • Physically able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 16kg. To use a ladder, trolley, wind mobile shelving and related basic materials handling equipment.

The Commercial Operations stream, through its operation - Government Records Repository (GRR) - provides commercial records management services on a fee for service basis and is a vital source of revenue for SARAs operations.
