About The Role:

Reporting to the Regional Health Manager, you will lead a team of hygiene professionals and ensure processes and systems are in place to manage and improve hygiene risk outcomes and support legislative compliance for the Newmont Australia sites.

In This Role You Will:
  • Lead a team of hygiene professionals based at the Operations
  • Ensure compliance with legislative standards, including delivery of hygiene monitoring, water quality monitoring and chemical management
  • Lead the development of the hygiene monitoring and control plans
  • Ensure QC and accuracy of hygiene data and reporting
  • Ensure exceedances are investigated, reported and corrective actions applied
  • Provide data to inform risk based health surveillance program
  • Ongoing refinement of the site hygiene education awareness programs
  • Champion hygiene improvement plans with asset leaders
  • Communicate and engage with site and regional leaders
  • Work with the Global Director Hygiene to standardise and improve the Newmont Hygiene programs
Your Skills, Training & Experience Checklist:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, OHS or Science discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Hygiene
  • Minimum 5 years experience in occupational hygiene across mining or heavy industry
  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • Ability to:
    • Lead and develop a team of professionals
    • Problem solve complex issues
    • Coach, support and influence site leaders
  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Key risk management and assurance processes
    • Hygiene legislative and regulatory requirements
