NQBP is one of Australia's largest port authorities by tonnage throughput. More than half of Queensland's trade, by tonnage, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point.
Reporting to the Engineering and Planning Manager you will be responsible for delivering effective engineering services though project management, contract administration and port infrastructure planning. In a day to day capacity you will be providing technical engineering expertise on short, medium and long term planned capital works projects. You will undertake field inspections, contract supervision and provide a general technical presence across a range of civil infrastructure projects in port environment.
Other responsibilities are:
Manage external consultants, contractors and service providers
Develop and maintaining project management documents including project briefs, project initiation documents, and various reports in accordance with Prince2 project management framework
Manage the tendering process and prepare procurement documentation
Contribute to port planning and development
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful it is essential that you are a tertiary qualified civil engineer with demonstrated experience in:
Delivery of marine and landside infrastructure projects, such as steel and concrete wharf structures, roads, utilities and sea walls
Inspection and investigation of assets
Procurement and management of external suppliers
Management of infrastructure projects through initiation, planning, execution and closure stages
Infrastructure needs assessment and port development planning
