Australian Pork Limited (APL) is a producer-owned company focused on improving the business opportunities for Australian pork producers. We have a new, ambitious strategic plan and have refocused resources. A producer relations team has been created to improve APLs level of engagement with its diverse range of producers of all sizes.
As the leader of the Producer Relations team your role will be to the establish a customer service attitude towards our producers. You will also oversee a broad portfolio of producer and processor interactions including quality assurance, traceability, industry information reporting and taking the lead on the adoption of new research findings. This will involve leading a team of 5 people to be the conduit between producers views and APLs outputs.
The role will have responsibilities including (but not limited to):
Operations Team - Participate as a member of the operations leadership group to drive APLs targeted outcomes in both planning and execution
Producer relationship management and recruitment lead the team to identify and measure communication (two-way) and customer service levels with targeted individuals and groups
Connect producers with relevant experts to help solve the producers problem
Report the broad portfolio of interactions, identifying opportunities to the broader APL team and other stakeholders
Proactively engage with other directors and their teams to ensure that all information is shared in a way that facilitates all of APL being close to the customer

The required skills and competencies for the role are:
Highly practiced proven leadership of high-performing customer service programmes.
Positively a people person ideally with on-the-ground agricultural community experience.
Advanced interpersonal relationship and rapport building skills, particularly in building trust by delivering what is promised to people.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and experience of the meat industry supply chains (desirable not mandatory).
