WPE is a privately owned logistic and freight transport business that started in Dubbo in 1990 and has enjoyed strong growth to be now one of the leading players in its field. Uniquely positioned to provide overnight express and road transport services from a wide range of locations in Australia for a large number of national, state and local contracted customers.
Right now we are looking for an energetic and hands on Operations Manager, to join the successful team at our head office in Dubbo.
In this role you will be a significant member of the executive leadership team where you will be able to contribute to the strategic growth, profitability and direction of WPE. You will be focused on best practices across the business that will drive outcomes to satisfy the various requirements of our clients transport needs.
As a hands on manager you will also be accountable for the day to day management of our N.S.W depot operations with particular emphasis on the Dubbo depot. This includes ensuring we have the correct allocation of resources to meet the daily service and operational requirements across the business. Additionally you will need to be able to manage, coach and develop teams that will ensure all operations are safe, efficient and compliant.
You will be accountable for:
Daily Service Requirements across the business - Pickup and Delivery, Line haul and Labor requirements
Optimizing the Delivery Process- Ensuring the runs are profitable, compliant and sustainable and demonstrating problem solving skills
Leading Continuous Improvement - Identifying and driving continuous improvement to enable efficiencies and reduce costs.
Strong Focus and Adherence to W.H&S - Maintain and monitor work place procedures under the W.H&S and CoR legislation
Ensure Quality Outcomes for Clients- Monitor and ensure the business is delivering quality outcomes for our client base through freight security, scanning protocols and strong communication
Develop the Team- Ensure all staff are trained through a collaborative process to ensure best practices are meet
Timely and Accurate Information - Reporting operational performance to the Managing Director and the Executive Team
Manage asset maintenance - Oversee the management of all vehicle and fork lift servicing throughout the business together with ability to analyse and purchase new assets as needed
Strong proven management ability - experience in logistics would be advantageous
Ability to develop and drive process orientated outcomes
Strong knowledge of how to deliver Continuous improvement projects focused on driving business performance
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Sound computer knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
Ability to drive sustainable growth
Demonstrated understanding of current W.H&S and CoR requirements.
Demonstrated leadership skills to influence, coach and build teams.
Solutions based thinker and methodical approach to problem solving
Budget management experience with good financial and business acumen
Current Truck and Fork Lift Licence
