Health Safety Environment Australia (HSE Australia) is a national provider of specialist environment, health and safety consulting services throughout mining, government and industry. We are currently looking for an Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our experienced Hygiene team based here in SA. Predominantly this is an entry level role, ideally suited to a recent Graduate or someone who has a year or two of experience in a similar role, with the key focus being on NATA accreditation and on the job training to provide monitoring and laboratory support to the hygiene team.
You will work closely with of our Senior Hygienists, initially under their close supervision, on various projects in the following areas:
Monitoring of workplace hazards including physical (noise, vibration, heat, cold), biological (bacteria, mould) and chemical (dusts, gas, vapors);
Collection of drug lab samples and analysis;
Preparation of relevant technical reports;
Conducting NATA fiber counting, ID and reporting;
Assist with in-house equipment calibrations, documentation and record management;
Prepare all equipment requirements for client projects (as advised by the Hygiene team);
Liaise with clients, suppliers and other team members and respond to enquiries as required.
Provide general support and assistance to the Hygiene ream in the delivery of client hygiene programs.
To be considered for this role you must have:
Recently completed a tertiary degree in science (chemistry, biology highly regarded);
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), you must be able to produce relevant reports that are accurate, timely, complete and communicate the results of the project;
Highly developed attention to detail, with a well developed ability to listen to instruction and follow process and procedures;
The ability to work independently when required, but also as part of a professional team, manage your time effectively, be highly organized and not afraid to ask questions;
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and travel both intra and interstate, as required (COVID-19 restrictions dependent);
A current, full drivers license, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
