Housing Maintenance Officer (HMO)

Ingkerreke Commercial is a building and construction company delivering numerous capital and construction works, period contracts, conducting repairs and maintenance works in regional and remote locations throughout the Northern Territory Western Australia and Far North Queensland.

Job  

We are seeking for an experienced Housing Maintenance Officer (HMO) responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Undertaking general repairs and maintenance.
  2. Ensure all emergency, preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  3. When required oversee and coordinate any required contractors working on site.
  4. Responding promptly to all maintenance service requests assigned and ensure that they are completed accordingly.
  5. Maintain daily work records and service schedules.
  6. Ensure compliance is relevant with WH&S policies and procedures

Essential

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in building repair and maintenance.
  2. An excellent work-ethic and proven ability to work unsupervised.
  3. Highly effective interpersonal skills, including competent written and oral communication skills.
  4. Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to Maintenance and Repairs including WH&S & Fire/Evacuation.
  5. Proven ability to manage, prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines, utilising initiative, leadership and problem solving.
  6. Proven ability to work independently and also as part of a cross-cultural, multi-disciplined and high-performing team.
  7. Demonstrated professional demeanour, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise diplomacy and tact.
  8. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, this will include travel to regional and remote communities, primarily Hermannsburg, Areyonga and Wallace Rockhole. 
  9. Must possess a current NT Driving Licence, Working Safety in the Construction Industry Card (white card), Working with Children Card (Ochre Card) and valid First Aid Certificate. 
  10. Must have basic computer skills and should be able to use iPad and Apps related to work orders. 

Desirable

  1. Broad understanding of the issues relating to remote service delivery in the Northern Territory.
