Ingkerreke Commercial is a building and construction company delivering numerous capital and construction works, period contracts, conducting repairs and maintenance works in regional and remote locations throughout the Northern Territory Western Australia and Far North Queensland.


We are seeking for licenced, skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Building Construction, Repair and Maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
  2. Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
  3. Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
  4. Assemble fittings and valves for installation.
  5. Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building.
  6. Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing.
  7. Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
  8. Choose plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building.
  9. Follow health and safety standards and complies with building codes.
  10. Write reports documenting the problem and summary of actions taken.
  11. Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
  12. Oversee other workers, such as apprentices and laborers.


  1. Hold a valid NT Plumbing, Draining and Gasfitter Licence. 
  2. Hold a valid Construction Industry Card (White Card), Working with Children card (Ochre Card), First Aid Certificate and Working at Heights certificate or willingness to obtain one within agreed timeframe. 
  3. Must possess a current manual NT Drivers License and the willingness to travel to regional and remote areas overnight or for short periods as required.
  4. Highly effective interpersonal skills, including competent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Proven ability to manage, prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines, utilising initiative, leadership and problem solving.
  6. Proven ability to work independently and also as part of a cross-cultural, multi-disciplined and high-performing team.
  7. Demonstrated professional demeanour, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise diplomacy and tact.
  8. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships, including the ability to work effectively with both government agencies and non-government organisations.
  9. Commitment to developing a positive workplace and cohesive team, as well as to fostering a safe work culture and to applying modern WH&S practices.
  10. Ability to supervise, motivate, mentor and train other staff as required.


  1. Licenced to install & test backflow prevention devices.  
  2. Registered building practitioner in the category of certifying plumber and drainer. 
  3. Broad understanding of the issues relating to remote service delivery in the Northern Territory.
