We have a team of specialist retirement experts who deliver high quality, ethical and tailored advice, from intrafund advice through to comprehensive advice, to our members and other external clients.
Reporting to the Financial Planning Support Manager, this position will directly assist the Financial Planning team in providing responsive and high quality service to Statewide Super members, who have come on as external financial planning clients. This role will be expected to perform various tasks including the production of Statements of Advice (SOAs) utilising XPlan financial planning software.
The successful candidate will be expected to meet specific key performance indicators within each of these Key Responsibilities as they strive to deliver the best service possible to our members:
Support the Comprehensive and Intra-fund Financial Planners in the provision of quality and timely strategic advice documents, comprehensive financial projections and in depth strategy discussions.
Interpret and analyse data obtained by the Financial Planner during client meetings to build fully compliant and high quality SOAs in a timely manner per workflow standards.
Address financial planning questions regarding tax issues, cost basis, estate planning, insurance etc. where possible
Gather and input financial planning data into the financial planning software to ensure the integrity of our client records
Keep accurate and timely records of all communications with members
Identify areas of risk and escalate these appropriately to mitigate risk exposure
Participate in team tasks and projects as directed by leadership
Comply with and maintain knowledge of rules, regulations, standards and best practice, including technical knowledge regarding superannuation and insurance
Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Financial Planning Support Manager
To be considered for this role candidates will need:
A minimum of five (5) years experience supporting financial planners/adviser
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience in the use of the XPlan financial planning software
Demonstrated understanding of current tax laws, insurance and superannuation legislation and compliance standards (i.e. Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Financial Planning Association)
To be able to meet the compliance obligations of the Statewide Super Australian Financial Services License (AFSL), as set out in the AFSL Compliance Plan, including the training requirements of RG146 for provision of personal advice
Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (or studying towards completion) or equivalent
