Fire Safety team leader role managing Greenfield Commercial and Healthcare projects in Sydney & Australia  
Client
My client is a specialist global building services multi-discipline consultancy who specialise in sustainability and ESD projects, where their goal is to achieve high Green Star standards.
They work hand in hand with architects during the early design stages and their projects are always up for awards globally.
 
With several offices across Australia they have a presence of 200 engineers, 40 of whom are based in Sydney with plans to expand to an office of around 70-100 people locally within the next 5 years.
 
Key for them when looking for staff is candidates who have a passion for the overall design of projects and how their service contributes to the overall sustainability of the build.

The Role
Due to the firm’s growth in Australia, they are looking for an experienced Fire Safety design engineer to lead a small team and play a pivotal role in growing the Service and be the face of the division to clients.  Reporting to the Managing Director you will be leading multi-discipline projects and acting as key point of contact for clients throughout the entire fire safety and other services design phase.
 
The Successful Candidate should have

  • 8+ years' experience in Fire Safety design engineering, covering Fire safety engineering analysis, fire and evacuation modelling, risk assessment and site visits / inspections to evaluate fire safety of buildings and infrastructure
  • Strong ability to prepare fire safety engineering briefs and fire safety engineering reports
  • Building Services experience is a must, and comprehensive understanding of BCA and relevant standards & codes.
  • A C10 Accreditation will be highly regarded and beneficial 
  • Experience of working across a diverse range of projects, preferably healthcare and commercial
  • Experience liaising with client-side projects managers, and excellent communication and rapport building skills required
