Kimberley and Pilbara Lawyers is a reputable law firm in sunny Broome, WA.  We are a small, close knit team predominately working with clients in the Kimberley and the Pilbara, although we have clients throughout Western Australia and the other states, in most areas of law.  We are a busy law firm, but we are friendly and quirky and do enjoy a laugh.

The firm was founded by our Principal/Director, Julia Barber, in 2004.  Julia, who holds BA and LLB (Hons) degrees, is a highly regarded Solicitor who works tirelessly for good outcomes for her clients.  She was born and educated in the UK and achieved her qualifications through Monash University in Victoria.  She commenced her working life in a large legal firm in 1978 and has, effectively, over 40 years legal experience.

KPL is on the hunt for a well-presented Receptionist with an amazing phone manner and interpersonal skills for an immediate start.  You will need to already be residing in Broome, WA.

About the role (including, but not limited to):

  • Complete daily reception and administration tasks with high attention to detail;
  • Diary (paper and electronic) and email inbox management;
  • Answering telephone enquiries, fielding calls and thorough message taking;
  • Basic financial administration tasks i.e. money handling, receipting, banking, drawing cheques;
  • Maintaining stationery supplies, staff amenities and toner stock;
  • Provide assistance to the Principal/Director and her assistant (who works remotely);
  • Opening new client files (hard copy and electronic) and file maintenance yes, this means filing;
  • Liaise with clients, other solicitors, our barristers and other parties (and occasionally, with the various Courts);
  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the office and reception; and
  • Various outside clerk tasks, if required.

Your skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient with MS Office suite;
  • Very organised and have the ability to use your intuition;
  • Accurate typing skills and high attention to detail;
  • Tech savvy and can troubleshoot basic IT issues;
  • The ability to work effectively as a team player and autonomously;
  • Great customer service and client liaison skills; and
  • Previous experience in Reception and Office Administration.
