Bookkeeper/Accounting/Administration/ Reception Person
Yass Soldiers Club is a progressive and innovative medium size club in country NSW, approximately 50km from Canberra. The Club boasts a membership of 6000, 94 gaming machines, 2 bars, popular restaurant, and two function rooms, Tab and Keno.
Due to the current bookkeeper going on Maternity leave the club is now seeking a temporary experienced Bookkeeper/Administration/ Reception person to cover for 20 weeks from 18th Aug, reporting directly to the CEO, the role is on a full -Time fixed term basis, for 40 hours per week. You will work alongside the General Manger, managing the Club's accounts, assisting with payroll and office functions to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Prepare the monthly financial report and month end processes - reconciliations maintaining journals and ledgers.
Legislative requirements including BAS, FBT and Tax requirements
Take ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable and debtors.
Cash-flow management reporting and analysis.
Journal entries, managing compilation of financial statements.
Reconciliation of bank and loan accounts.
Developing, implementing and following financial and administration policies, procedures and processes.
Assist Club Accountant with: fixed asset register, contribute to the annual external audit process, ensuring compliance with monthly and annual taxation requirements, payroll tax, workers compensation, preparation of monthly financial reports.
You will bring:
Relevant educational qualifications with a Certificate IV Bookkeeping as minimum preferred.
Experience in managing the finances of a similar sized organisation with membership-based or club organisation exposure will be highly regarded.
Experience in preparing end of period transactions and related financial reports
Advanced skills in accounting and payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly MYOB, Word and Excel.
Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles involved in all the areas that form part of the preparation of the financial statements
Well-developed understanding of modern accounting practices, including BAS reporting.
Developing policies and procedures covering a wide range of finance and administration processes.
Commitment to ethical principles and confidentiality.
High level attention to detail and the ability to work in a small team.
Good communication skills.
Flexibility and willingness to assist others in the team
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
