We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and qualified Compliance Officer with a five year minimum history in delivering and implementing a positive safety culture on various construction and fit out sites.

You will be responsible for working closely with our site team, implementing the company safety policies procedures and methodologies including trades safety documents for a new project commencing in Berri in August.

Key Functions and responsibilities

Reporting directly to the State QSE Coordinator and working closely with the Construction Manager and Project Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • The ability to confidently instruct trades into our site procedures through induction
  • Managing and ensuring a safe construction site
  • Confident in providing guidance and assistance to the Schiavello site staff.
  • A high level of verbal and computer communication skills with trades and Schiavello staff
  • Speak clearly and fluently, the ability to avoid creating conflict and can effectively navigate emotion in conversation.
  • Conduct tool box talks, walk throughs with trades and various auditing processes
  • Provide periodic performance reporting to various levels within the business
  • Reviewing contractors documentation such as SWMS and SDS control
  • Assist in the development of policy and procedure framework
  • Prepare projects and personnel for an audit to ensure full conformance
  • Undertake all required training as determined by the business
  • Lead Critical Incident Investigations where applicable
  • Maintain a high level of competency with all software systems
  • Contribute to business improvement processes
  • Maintain existing relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Look to advance your opportunities and grow your career
  • Formulate positive relationships with all Schiavello personnel including supportive shared and corporate services
  • Prepared to demonstrate commitment to the organisation

    OTHER KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

  • 5 Years experience in a WHS officer role or site supervisor role in construction
  • Proficient knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS4801
  • Minimum of Cert IV in WHS
  • Preferred Diploma in OHS, First Aid Lead Investigation
  • Current drivers licence (unrestricted)

  • Experience in Health and Aged Care sites is preferred
