About the Role:
Worx Equipment are currently operating plant and maintenance projects across multiple clients and sites within the Mining and Civil Construction sectors. In addition, we have a fully operational workshop that conducts repairs on client's equipment and on/off hire repairs on our equipment. We have a position for a Leading Hand HD Fitter to support our workshop in the planning, management, and execution of this work. We anticipate the role to be 70% hands on and 30% administrative function.
We are seeking a highly skilled self-starter with excellent organisation and communication skills to work as a part of our team.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
CAT, Hitachi and Komatsu experience preferred;
Trade Qualified as Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic and/or Auto Electrician;
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated ability to work safely;
Experience working in a leadership role;
Diagnostic fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air systems;
Good time management and work prioritisation skills;
Ability to work in a team;
High level of computer literacy;
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
Responsibilities of the role:
Organising, resourcing and providing technical advice, leadership and direction to workshop team;
Execution of scheduled repairs including component change outs and preventative maintenance.
Perform inspections to assess and scope defects accurately and promptly;
Complete tasks efficiently, use initiative and seek opportunities to improve practices and reduce costs for our us and our clients;
Managing maintenance and rebuild practices as well as the condition of the workplace to company and industry standards;
Work and communicate effectively with other team members to prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines.
Effectively manage onsite contractors and the timely execution of their work.
Coordinate and manage offsite repairs with third party service vendors.
Experience with plant hire on and off process is desirable.
