Production Shift Leader

  • Lead production, quality and safety
  • Great opportunity to make an immediate impact
  • Highly qualified and talented site leadership team

This niche national manufacturing company is in the process of restructuring their site leadership team to enable it to be the market leader for the provision of a range of unique products and services for the civil construction market.

There are a number of key projects about to commence up and down the eastern seaboard and to accommodate these projects the GM has created two new key roles for Production Shift Leaders at their Queensland manufacturing site to take responsibility for product quality, yield and site safety.

This role requires the talents of a strong production supervisor who can work on the floor with the production teams to maintain a zero harm environment and meet the high demands and deadlines of the construction industry.

You will be responsible for leading a small production team of experienced operators, resourcing levels and maintaining manufacturing processes and safety initiatives across the site, reviewing KPI's and training programs that improve existing staff capability to ensure a culture of continuous improvement across the site to support the business goals.

You are happy to work rotating shifts and would describe yourself as a 'hands-on' leader with good people skills who understands how to get good results through their people.  To be successful in this role and win the respect from the team, it would be expected that you can demonstrate a successful track record of at least five years, managing production personnel through change that delivered excellent results in a high performing manufacturing environment. Some knowledge or understanding of concrete products would certainly accelerate your transition into this great business.

This role will suit a proactive, self-motivated, inspirational and analytical thinker with a mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of LEAN manufacturing principals and ISO9001 quality management systems.

Tertiary studies in front-line leadership, process manufacturing and OEE will be highly regarded as will an understanding of production analytics to identify gaps in processes, recognise trends and take appropriate action to gain production efficiencies and drive the business forward.

You are a successful production supervisor looking for a new challenge in a growth industry, that wants to work with a dynamic team of high achievers in a forward-thinking business where you can make a positive contribution.
