The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager HRIS & Payroll, the Senior Payroll Project Specialist is the Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Payroll Systems project and will lead the change management. This project is focussed on replacing our current payroll system which is being expired by the vendor. The role is pivotal in the successful implementation of the new payroll system. 

In this role you may also be required to step into BAU activities during certain phases of the project, or for other coverage reasons such as team members' leave. 

This a 12 month fixed-term contract.

Specific responsibilities include:

Payroll Project:

  • Quickly and thoroughly understand current state and provide support around technical and other queries
  • Participate in design, build, testing and rollout of the system
  • Create revised payroll guidelines, procedures, and processes
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Change management
  • Assist with project documentation

Payroll:

  • Assisting with end-to-end payroll services such as payroll processing and other BAU activities during some phases of the project and/or leave coverage
  • Providing feedback and suggestions for BAU opportunities

So what are we looking for

  • Exposure to Payroll Systems implementations and/or implementing improvements
  • 15+ years' end-to-end Payroll experience
  • Strong skills in planning, prioritizing and organizing
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and influence
  • Change management and stakeholder engagement experience
