Our Strategic Planning and Place Making Department takes a strategic approach to long term planning and policy development to shape the growth, urban form, accessibility and livability of our region whilst managing natural hazards and protecting and conserving our natural resources, environment and heritage. The department’s plans, programs and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the South East Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.
Your responsibilities will include operating as a technical expert and providing mentorship and guidance to team members to achieve required outcomes, within required time frames and in a professional manner. You will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes to achieve value and efficiency, while driving a continuous improvement, performance, and customer focused culture within the team.
To be successful in this role you must possess a degree in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture or another relevant field and comprehensive knowledge of planning, urban design and place-making processes, including the Planning Act 2016, SEQ Regional Plan, Council local laws and policies, or the ability to quickly acquire this information. You will have the ability to coach, motivate and influence at all levels of the organisation, contributing to a positive work environment with a strong focus on provision of quality customer service.
