Mechanical Fitter or Diesel Mechanic

Starting salary of $99,000 gross per annum, This is a FIFO role, flying out of Perth, Shift is approx 24 days on shift, 8 times per year and working 10 hours per day.

Ngaanyatjarra Services Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Diesel Mechanic to join our Essential Services team in delivery of planned and preventative maintenance, and emergency breakdown repairs to Power, Portable Water and Effluent assets throughout various indigenous communities located in the Central Reserves and Goldfield region in WA.

This is a FIFO role, flying out of Perth.  Shift is approximately 24 days on shift, 8 times per year and working 10 hours per day, starting salary of $99,000 gross per annum.

To be considered for this role applicants must meet the following criteria:

Essential:

Proven experience in:

  • Maintaining and repairing diesel engines ranging from 3-23 litre capacities
  • CAT 3406 engines
  • Cummins QSL9, KTA19, QSK15, M11, 6CTA, 6BT engines
  • Hino K13, J08 engines
  • John Deer 6068, 6090 engines
  • Scania DI engines

  • Able to work isolated and remote environments while maintaining quality work standards
  • Able to work safely in extreme weather conditions
  • Neat and tidy within workplace settings and work vehicles

Desirable:

  • Ability to manage fatigue appropriately
  • Ability to be organised and plan carefully for each shift

Additional requirements:

  • Trade qualified diesel mechanic/fitter or relevant trade qualification
  • Current HR drivers licence or willingness to obtain
  • Current HC licence desirable
  • Current forklift license desirable
  • Current first aid training
  • Crane or Hiab ticket desirable
