This is a full time, hands-on position that will see you both working as a part of the office team as well as out on site. Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring sites comply with all WH&S legislative requirements and all site personnel are familiar with company WH&S policies and procedures
Assisting site management in the setup, implementation and ongoing review of the WH&S management system and site plan safety
Acting as first point of call for first aid on site, maintaining first aid kits/ stock when required
Conducting regular site safety inspections
Organising and executing site safety meetings
Checking and monitoring Safe Work Method Statements
Management and education of subcontractors
Conducting site inductions when required
Performing weekly safety reports for management
Maintaining safety files
Investigating any injuries, incidents and near misses and recommending appropriate corrective actions
Conducting formal incident investigations when necessary
Conducting QA inspections on all projects
Providing feedback and recommendations to senior management with relation to improving quality and safety aspects of projects
Implementing preventative measures and procedures to ensure all sites are adhering to the code and site staff are working safely
Maintaining a clear understanding of current OH&S/ HSE legislation
Mandatory Skills/ Abilities
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Work Health and Safety and Compliance
Hold an Occupational or Senior First Aid Certificate
5+ years experience in safety management
Strong existing relationships with Work Health and Safety related organisations
Ability to communicate in a confident and clear manner
Self-motivated, ambitious and proactive with a desire for ongoing professional development
