Health Manager

About This Role

Reporting to the Regional Director Health Safety & Security, you will lead a team of health professionals in supporting the business to ensure the known and emerging health & hygiene risks are managed effectively and we provide a workplace where people can maintain and improve their health.

In This Role You Will:
  • Lead a team of multi-disciplined health professionals to maintain and deliver against the business health standards and objectives
  • Provide interpretation and guidance on application of legislative and Newmont health and hygiene requirements
  • Contribute to standard and process development as a key member of the global health and hygiene leadership team
  • Monitor emerging health and hygiene risks for region
  • Develop strategies to reduce the Regional health & hygiene risk profile
  • Provide SME support as required for problem solving unexpected exceedances, illness presentations and other health and hygiene issues escalated
  • Coordinate regional injury management and workers compensation program, including guidance on complex claim resolution
  • Provide governance and quality control of hygiene data, monitoring plans and reporting
  • Lead the Physical and Mental Wellbeing programs for the Region
Your Skills, Training & Experience Checklist:
  • Tertiary qualifications in health or hygiene
  • Significant operational (mining or similar heavy industry) health or hygiene experience
  • OHS qualifications and experience are desirable
  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
  • Ability to:
    • Problem solve complex issues
    • Coach, support and influence operational leaders
  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Key risk management and assurance processes
    • Health & Hygiene legislative and regulatory requirements
