Dawsons Engineering provides maintenance, engineering and labour hire solutions across Australia and abroad. Currently we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join and lead our fixed plant maintenance team at a large scale operation located West of Townsville.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing effective supervision, leadership and technical expertise to the team. Maintaining a positive safety and working culture is of the upmost importance.
You will lead the day to day maintenance team and coordinate maintenance and service functions to achieve maximum productivity.
This role is a fly-in-fly-out position from Townsville ONLY on a 8 days on 6 days off roster
Key Responsibilities (shall include but not limited to):

Execute and manage planned and unplanned maintenance requirements in a timely and cost effective manner
Demonstrate safety leadership and enforce a safe zero harm and positive working culture
Effectively deal with performance and development issues
Provide support for the Company's management and operational teams
Supervise, mentor and develop personnel in daily activities and tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures
Effectively engage and collaborate with Supervisor peers on the planning and execution of maintenance schedules and activities
Actively seek out and contribute to maintenance improvement opportunities and initiatives
Ensure team rosters are managed with adequate coverage on site at all times
Assess daily work tasks and maintain reports, records and work procedures in SAP
The successful applicant will require the following skill sets and attributes to be considered for the role.
Associated engineering Trade background with 3 to 5 years' relevant industry experience
S1, S2, S3 certified competency
Sound knowledge of maintenance management systems
Demonstrated success in high standard of safe work practices
Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Well-developed Supervision skills including: maintenance planning capabilities, management of personnel, effective people skills and reporting
Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisor role managing a group of trades people in the mining industry
Proficient in MS Office software and SAP
