Architect & Interior Designer
We are a Residential Design & Construction firm based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Gardner Design prides itself on great customer relationships and quality. We have great employee retention and a great company culture and team.
We are looking for an experienced Architect to join our team in a full-time position.
Working hours are 8hrs per day Monday to Friday, the start and finish time is negotiable and to be agreed with the right candidate
This position would involve the daily creative design of multiple projects. You would ultimately and eventually lead our team of designers through from conception to completion of architectural and interior design. You would answer directly with the managing director of Gardner Design.
Create interior and exterior designs based on clients instruction producing multiple options for presentation to clients
Carry out client presentation meetings
Research local council requirements (LEP & DCP) and guidelines to be able to design correctly to the property
Complete site measure up for initial drawings
Produce drawings and specifications ready for construction
Lodge projects with local councils or PCA for DA or CDC applications
Instruct and lead a design team on designs for both whole project designs and interior designs
Liaise with contractors and consultants (PCA, Surveyor, Engineers, etc)
Oversee construction projects to ensure designs are implemented as per designs
Specify materials and finishes with clients for interior design projects
Style completed projects for photo shoots
Intimate and detailed knowledge of the building industry specialising in residential construction
3+ years of post-graduate experience working with an architectural firm
Extensive and high-level knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
Extensive knowledge of DA & CDC processes
In depth knowledge of NCC and AS requirements
Experience with residential projects
Experience with interior design projects
The ability to work on multiple projects at one time
Very high attention to detail
Ability to work to deadlines
Architect or Interior Architect graduate
Interior design qualifications or studies would be looked at favourably
Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate industry work
Revit & AutoCAD
Photoshop & SketchUp work preferred
General knowledge of the National Construction Code & Australian Standards
Experience in local Eastern Suburbs councils would be looked at favourably
Microsoft office proficient
