About the City Works Department
This department is part of our City Services Division. It is the operations arm responsible for the construction of new and renewal projects, the maintenance and management of the City's built civil infrastructure, along with management of the City’s heavy and light fleet services.
About the Role
Are you a motivated, enthusiastic person looking for a “hands on” outdoor role whereby every day will be different. We have several new roles available that will operate across the municipality, gaining exposure to every facet of our City Works business unit from heavy plant operations, civil construction labouring roles, through to general roads, drainage and street furniture maintenance with everything in between. So, if you have experience in the civil construction/maintenance industry or are looking for a career change, this may be the perfect role for you.
Three permanent full-time positions and one temporary full-time 12 month position available.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Demonstrated skills and experience in undertaking a variety of road related maintenance and/or civil construction tasks.
- Ability to perform manual work including lifting of weights in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Working knowledge of relevant safe work practices within a civil engineering environment.
- Current Victorian Drivers licence.
