As a Cable Bolt Operator you will be involved in a high paced dynamic work environment supported by experienced knowledgeable mining and geology professionals who are committed to growing and transforming Ballarat Gold mine into a low-cost gold producer.

The ability to complete your underground time and undertake shift supervision experience will be provided to candidates who may be short in completion   

The Opportunity

As an experienced Underground Cable Bolt Operator your key responsibilities will be the safe and productive operation of the Cable Bolter at the Ballarat Gold Project which is in an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

The candidate must have previous Cable Bolt mining experience on a Sandvik DS421 Cable Bolter or similar bolting rigs.

The is a permanent residential position, in a major regional Victorian town, on a 7/7 roster.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Underground Cable Bolt Operator, your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient cable bolting drilling and installation in the mine on your crew
  • Ensuring all materials provided for onsite are used in accordance with Companys Safety and Health Management System
  • Working proactively, contributing to the safe work culture onsite by ensuring tasks are completed right the first time-on time
  • Effectively interpret plans and demonstrate good communication
  • Assisting with safe maintenance and operating the Cable Bolter in accordance with the Companys Safety and Health Management System
  • Ensuring quality assurance and quality control compliance for cable bolting activities are applied
  • An understanding of industry best practices for operational cable bolting techniques

Minimum Requirements:

  • Sandvik Cable Bolt experience
  • Ability to read and understand cable bolt plans
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of ground support standards
  • Current manual Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates would be highly regarded
  • Current working at heights ticket highly regarded
  • Current High-Risk Vehicle loading crane licence (class CV)
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written

 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a high regard for safety, effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision and in a team environment.

The role is residential based in Ballarat and offers a continuous 7 on 7 off roster, with night shift forming part of the roster operating 12hr shifts from 7am/pm.
