About the role
Working with the Regulatory Review Manager you will play a key role in managing Sydney Waters contribution to regulatory reviews, developing positions on policy and pricing issues, providing regulatory advice to internal stakeholders and seeking to influence change where there are opportunities to improve the regulatory framework.
Other responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Leading development of Sydney Waters position to specific issues within regulatory reviews, based on sound analytical assessment and effective communication of complex concepts
Working with a broad range of internal stakeholders to identify and assess financial and customer impacts of regulatory and pricing proposals
Coordinating and drafting compelling submissions to our economic regulator within required, often tight, timeframes
Reporting to the Executive and Board on regulatory processes, submissions and broader regulatory issues
Providing advice on the implementation of the Price Determination, regulatory processes and broader regulatory issues to internal stakeholders
Maintaining awareness of key regulatory trends in the water industry and other utility sectors, both in Australia and overseas.
Minimum five years experience working in regulatory role preferred
Tertiary education in a related or relevant discipline
Deep understanding of Government and regulatory policies and process and well-developed skills in policy analysis and review
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal and analytical skills
Experience in presenting analysis and reporting writing to communicate complex issues to non-specialists.
Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain constructive and effective internal and external stakeholder relationships on projects
Ability to work as a team player, contributing own ideas while feeding off and developing the ideas of others. Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams would be desirable.
Ability to initiate work, work independently, set priorities and manage competing priorities
Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and other related computer packages.
